NUK was founded in 1956 by the dentists Prof. Dr Wilhelm Balters and Dr Adolf Müller, who developed an orthodontic teat modelled on the natural shape of a mother’s breast. Since then, the brand, whose name stands for "natural and jaw-friendly" (Natürlich Und Kiefergerecht), has represented many years of research, medical expertise and continuous innovation in baby care.
